Arkansas becomes latest to offer Georgia State transfer Jamil Muhammad
The list of suitors for former Georgia State EDGE Jamil Muhammad is growing. According to Muhammad, the Arkansas Razorbacks joined the large list of teams pursuing him on Friday. The junior from Madison, AL, made the announcement Friday afternoon from his social media account with the post below.
Muhammad’s list of programs looking to acquire his services includes offers from USC, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Memphis, West Virginia, Troy, California, Minnesota, Arkansas State, and James Madison. Arkansas, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State would bring the former Panther closer to home while pitting him against some of the toughest teams in college football residing in the SEC.
The production Muhammad has put on tape, especially after last season, shows his potential to be a game wrecker and cause havoc in opposing team’s backfields. Last season he had a total of 44 tackles, five tackles for a loss, and one interception for Georgia State in the Sun Belt Conference. In 2021, the six-foot-two, 245-pounder had 22 tackles, six tackles for loss, six sacks, and two forced fumbles. Muhammad is currently ranked 125 in On3’s 2023 Transfer Portal Player Rankings.
Where he lands is anybody’s guess at this point. But the picture above does not lie; Muhammad looks pretty good in cardinal red and white.
