An old favorite is coming back to Bud Walton Arena. It was reported Wednesday that Arkansas reached an NIL fundraising goal of $500,000 to replace the logo at midcourt with the “Slobbering Hog” logo that graced the court up until 2008.

The logo is often associated with what many consider to be the glory days of Arkansas basketball under coach Nolan Richardson in the 1990s and 2000s. Now it will return as the Razorbacks are set to tip off the 2024-25 season in a little less than a month.

The logo change was made possible after Arkansas received a $500,000 donation and challenged fans to match that over the next week to reach a total of $1 million. Athletic director Hunter Yuracheck posted a photo on X, formerly Twitter, to show off the court. You can view it below.

“HOG YEAH! Thanks to a late six figure donation, + @JustinColeMoore concert $ + an incredible number of Razorback fans donating what they could; we have hit our $500K goal to match our $500K donation to hit $1M mark in one week. Center court logo added this morning as promised,” Yurachek wrote.

It’s sure to bring back plenty of memories for fans who have been attending Razorbacks basketball games for decades. It was the logo for the team when it won its only national championship in school history in 1994.

The court redesign should also provide plenty of excitement for the upcoming season as it is the first for the team since October of 2019. Arkansas has used the Slobbering Hog logo on occasion in several years since it was removed from the court, including in 2019 to commemorate the 25-year anniversary of its national title.

The Razorbacks are set to enter this season with a new coach as John Calipari takes over following the departure of Eric Musselman. It was announced in August that the program has already sold out season tickets for this year.

Arkansas is coming off of a 16-17 finish this past season and will hope to make it back to the NCAA Tournament. They will host their first home contest since the court redesign on Oct. 25 when Kansas comes to Fayetteville for an exhibition game.
