Arkansas CB Selman Bridges withdraws from NCAA transfer portal
Arkansas defensive back Selman Bridges has withdrawn from the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned.
Bridges logged one pass breakup during his true freshman season with the Razorbacks but did not record any tackles in one appearance.
Bridges is a former four-star recruit in the 2024 class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings, which is a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services. He was the No. 177 overall recruit and No. 34 CB in his class.
During his high school tenure recorded 46 tackles, had six pass breakups and returned one of his two interceptions for a touchdown as a junior for Temple (Texas) Lake Belton. The success helped him earn all-area and second-team all-district honors in 2022.
When he committed to Arkansas, he explained why he committed to Arkansas in the first place.
“The coaching staff, the culture, and how they already had big plans for me. They have a 3-year plan set up for me already,” he told On3.

Year 2 of that plan won’t begin just yet. Arkansas still has a matchup against Texas Tech in the Liberty Bowl on Dec. 27. Perhaps that will give Bridges a chance to make an impact before heading into the offseason. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET and will air live on ESPN.
The Razorbacks are three-point underdogs heading into the matchup.
The portal officially opened on Monday, Dec. 9, 2024. More than 2,800 FBS scholarship players entered their names into the NCAA’s transfer database during the 2023-24 school year. Removing those who withdrew or went pro, the final total sat at 2,707 transfers.
That means roughly 25 percent of all FBS scholarship players hit free agency in one year, per On3’s Pete Nakos.
