Arkansas linebacker Brooks Yurachek has entered the NCAA transfer portal, according to a report from On3’s Pete Nakos.

Yurachek is a redshirt freshman who spent just one year with the Razorbacks following a transfer from Wake Forest. He is the son of Arkansas athletics director Hunter Yurachek.

Brooks Yurachek saw action in just two games for the Razorbacks during the 2024 season, appearing in the opener against Arkansas-Pine Bluff, then again in the bowl game against Texas Tech. He did not record any statistics.

He redshirted at Wake Forest in 2023, failing to see any game action.

Prior to enrolling at Wake Forest and beginning his college career, Brooks Yurachek was an unranked prospect out of high school.

Sam Pittman attempt to quell portal concerns

Brooks Yurachek is far from the first Arkansas player to enter the transfer portal during the winter window. And not all of the moves have been positive for the Razorbacks.

In the opening days of the NCAA Transfer Portal winter window, Arkansas saw several of its standouts enter their names, including players such as tight end Luke Hasz and cornerback Jaylon Braxton. Shortly after their decisions, Arkansas head coach Sam Pittman sent a message to any fans beginning to panic about the transfer portal.

“We’re not stupid. We know if a guy like a Luke Hasz walks out the door, it’s going to mean something,” Pittman said. “Hell, it meant something to us too. It meant something to him too. It was very difficult for him and his family.

“But the decisions have to be about the team. It can’t be about just the individual, it has to be about the team. All I would say is, all I would ask is that they be patient to see over the next week and a half (to) see if we get out of the portal what I think we can get. If we do, I think they’ll be very excited about that.”

On3’s Grant Grubbs also contributed to this report.
