Arkansas OL Addison Nichols enters NCAA transfer portal
Arkansas offensive lineman Addison Nichols has entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned.
Nichols is a former four-star recruit in the 2022 recruiting class and committed to Tennessee out of high school.
The offensive lineman spent just two seasons in Knoxville. He took a redshirt back in 2022 and was thrown into the rotation this past year. Nichols played in 13 games on Rocky Top before opting to transfer to Arkansas.
As a four-star recruit, Nichols played high school football at Norcross (GA) Greater Atlanta Christian School. He was the No. 166 overall recruit in the 2022 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Rankings, which is a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services.
The portal officially opened on Monday, Dec. 9, 2024. More than 2,800 FBS scholarship players entered their names into the NCAA’s transfer database during the 2023-24 school year. Removing those who withdrew or went pro, the final total sat at 2,707 transfers.
That means roughly 25 percent of all FBS scholarship players hit free agency in one year, per On3’s Pete Nakos.

Arkansas LB Brad Spence plans to enter NCAA transfer portal
Arkansas linebacker Brad Spence plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, he told On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
Spence just wrapped up his second season with the program, being a contributor for the Razorbacks in 2024. He will now look to continue his career elsewhere, hitting the open market.
Spence has played in 23 games throughout his career and five of them have been starts. In total, there are 70 tackles, 7.5 tackles for a loss, and 4.5 sacks on record. You can add a pass breakup and pick six Spencer had as a true freshman in the season opener against Western Carolina.
