There are some games where a team is beaten the second they walk on the field. They see the helmet across from them and look up to the crowd and become overwhelmed by the mystique of their opponent. Alabama is one of those teams who can win on mystique alone. Arkansas, however, is determined not to let that happen.

While speaking to the media, two of Arkansas’ key offensive weapons, Raheim Sanders and Trey Knox, explained their approach to Alabama. They have to play their game, focus internally, and not worry about who and what the Alabama program has become.

“I feel like we’re prepared for them,” Raheim Sanders said. “Of course, they’re a great defense, but we just gotta attack the first half and the second half.”

Trey Knox laughed, before jumping in to add, “I mean, it’s Alabama. They’re a well-coached, well-oiled machine, man.”

“They get those five-star players every class, but we’ve just got to look past that because stars don’t really matter that much, and, I mean, they’re going to be well coached. They’re not going to mess up, at all, very few and far between, and we just got to take advantage and take what they give us and not try to do too much and not try to, you know, make more than what it is. Just go out there and play our game,” Knox continued.

The two were then asked about comments that Arkansas coach Sam Pittman made. Essentially, he feels that some teams are beaten the second they step on the field with Alabama. However, Arkansas kept it close with Alabama last season. So, what can the team take from that game?

“Every year is different,” Knox said. “I mean, we had a good plan last year and we’re going to have a good plan this week, and, you know, we’re just going to go out there and play our best game this week.”

“I ain’t gonna say too much,” Sanders said. “It’s a new year, like Trey said, and I feel like we’ll be prepared for them.
