The 101st season of Arkansas baseball features plenty of talent on their slate. They’ll face 11 teams that participated in the 2022 NCAA Tournament and three teams that advanced to Omaha in the College World Series.

Arkansas will begin the 2023 season in the College Baseball Showdown (Feb. 17-19) at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. The three-day tournament will be played at the home of the Texas Rangers. The tourney field will feature Vanderbilt and Missouri, as well as a few teams from the Big 12–Oklahoma State, Texas, and TCU.

While all the teams that Arkansas will face in the tournament have not been revealed yet, all of the 2023 College Baseball Showdown games will be streamed live on FloSports, the exclusive broadcast partner of the tournament.

The home opener for the Hogs will be against Grambling on Feb. 21 before they roll out the welcome mat for the Eastern Illinois Salukis (Feb. 24-26), Illinois State, (March 1), Wright State (March 3-5), Army (March 7-8), Louisiana Tech (March 10-12), and UNLV (March 14-15).

The Hogs lose seven of their nine starters from the starting lineup that faced the Ole Miss Rebels in their 2022 College World Series matchup. Luckily, Arkansas returns infielder Peyton Stovall, first baseman Brady Slavens, and pitcher Zack Morris for the 2023 season.

Slavens broke a College World Series Record

In the Hogs’ first game against Ole Miss in the College World Series, Slavens blasted a solo shot in the fifth inning that not only gave Arkansas the lead, but also broke the record for the longest home run in Charles Schwab Field history at 436 feet.

More specifically, Slavens became the third player to ever hit a home run in any college game into the gap between the seats in center field at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska, according to NCAA Baseball on Twitter.
