Arkansas running back Julius Pope enters NCAA transfer portal

Arkansas running back Julius Pope has entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned. Pope spent just one year with the Razorbacks.
Pope did not appear in any games for Arkansas during the 2024 season. As a result, he took a redshirt.
But there should still be plenty of interest in Julius Pope in the NCAA transfer portal. He was a highly regarded recruit coming out of the high school ranks.
Prior to enrolling at Arkansas, Julius Pope was ranked as a three-star prospect and the No. 498 overall recruit in the 2024 class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings. He also checked in as the No. 45 linebacker in the class and the No. 16 overall player in the state of Mississippi, hailing from Batesville (MS) South Panola.
As a senior, Pope had 24 carries for 129 rushing yards and three touchdowns over two games. He played on both sides of the ball.

Arkansas loses Julius Pope, offensive lineman
In addition to losing Julius Pope, Arkansas also recently lost an offensive lineman to the transfer portal. Arkansas offensive tackle Zuri Madison has entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3’s Pete Nakos has learned. He did so after spending one year with the Razorbacks.
Madison chose Arkansas out of high school over a number of high-level programs. They included Duke, Illinois, Kentucky, Miami, West Virginia and others.
Early in his career, Zuri Madison was slowed by injuries. He had one spring practice ruined by a knee injury, which slowed his development on the field a good deal.
Prior to enrolling at Arkansas, Zuri Madison was ranked as a three-star prospect and the No. 811 overall recruit in the 2024 recruiting class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings. He also checked in as the No. 71 player at his position and the No. 6 overall player in the state of Kentucky, hailing from Lexington (KY) Frederick Douglass.
