Arkansas safety Quentin Murphy enters NCAA transfer portal

Arkansas defensive back Quentin Murphy has entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned. He does so after just a few months on campus.
Murphy was a member of the 2025 recruiting class, only recently showing up to play at Arkansas. He will head out before playing a down, should he follow through on his entry to the transfer portal.
As a junior in high school, Quentin Murphy played both ways and was actually a standout on the offensive side of the ball too. He completed 98-of-167 passes for 1,388 yards and 19 touchdowns as a junior while rushing 113 times for 569 yards and eight touchdowns as a sophomore.
He chose Arkansas over Georgia Tech, Syracuse, Louisville, Michigan State, Ole Miss, Oregon, Oklahoma and others. Suffice it to say, there will be at least some interest in the transfer portal.
Prior to enrolling at Arkansas, Quentin Murphy was ranked as a three-star prospect and the No. 662 overall recruit in the nation, according to the On3 Industry Rankings. He also checked in as the No. 16 athlete in the class and the No. 6 overall player from the state of Arkansas, hailing from Little Rock (AR) Parkview Magnet.
Quentin Murphy isn’t the only player that the Razorbacks have lost to the transfer portal in the last month. Arkansas has lost players on both sides of the ball.
Arkansas receiver enters the transfer portal
Arkansas wide receiver Khafre Brown entered the NCAA transfer portal in mid-March, On3 has learned. He played just one season for the Razorbacks.

Brown started his college career at North Carolina, spending a few years in Chapel Hill. He spent the 2022 and ’23 seasons at USF before transferring to Arkansas.
Brown played just one game last season and caught two balls for 24 yards. The bulk of his production came in 2020 with UNC and 2023 with South Florida.
Over the course of his career, Brown has 49 catches for 950 yards, eight touchdowns and 19.4 yards per catch. Going into the 2025 season, Brown will be a 7th year senior.
Clearly there’s some difference between the entries of Quentin Murphy and Khafre Brown. One was just beginning his career, while the other is at the tail end. Still, both losses will sting.
