Arkansas still planning to redshirt Patrick Kutas per Sam Pittman
Arkansas still intends to use the redshirt option for Patrick Kutas this season.
Sam Pittman addressed the status of the junior offensive lineman at his press conference to start this week. He said that they had all discussed it as he came closer to his return after being injured to end last season and begin this one. With that, the Razorbacks are continuing to plan on redshirting him this fall.
“Well, you know, when Pat came back, I had that conversation with him about redshirting as we all know,” said Pittman.
“Our plans are to do what we told the young man that we’d do and that’s to redshirt him.”
However, the ‘Hogs haven’t determined how they’ll go about him to end this year. Kutas has appeared in and started on the offensive line in the last three games this season. That gives him only one more game to play in to keep his redshirt with the team undecided if he’ll play in which one of Louisiana Tech this weekend or at Missouri for the regular-season finale in the following one.
“Whether we play him? And we’d like to do that. Whether we play him this week and don’t play him against Missouri? You know, he only has one left. It’s still up in the air,” said Pittman. “Whether that’s next week or whether that’s this week, we’ll just have to wait and see how we are health-wise and all that.”

After this past weekend, Kutas has appeared in 25 total games for the Razorbacks. He played in 13 as a freshman, much of those on special teams, and started a total of nine last season on their offensive line while also still working on special team snaps. He has since played in the three more this season in his return to the field to end last month.
Kutas looks to have one more appearance for himself this season. It’ll then be done for him in hopes of another year of collegiate eligibility in Fayetteville.
