Arkansas guard Boogie Fland will reportedly miss the rest of the 2024-25 season with a hand injury, according to a report from CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein.

Fland has been dealing with a hand injury since a Jan. 11 matchup against Florida. Coach John Calipari recently described the injury as “pretty bad.”

“Boogie’s hand, you know, he fell in the game at our place against Florida,” Calipari said. “Billy (Richmond) jumped on him, so his hand is pretty bad. Don’t know what we’ll do going forward. But, we got to make sure we get that thing right.”

Now he’ll reportedly be sidelined for the season as a result. It will not be an insignificant loss for the Razorbacks, who are struggling mightily early in SEC play.

Boogie Fland was averaging 15.1 points, 5.7 assists and 3.4 rebounds per game. He ranked second on the team in scoring and first in assists.

Calipari had commented on what must happen should Fland miss time.

“We’ve got nine guys and if Boogie is out for a while we may have eight guys,” Calipari continued. “Well, guess what those eight guys got to do? Play well. All of them. You can’t have four of the eight and get it done and that means again, mindsets.”

With Boogie Fland now set to miss the season, Arkansas will likely turn to DJ Wagner and Johnell Davis to be the team’s spark in the backcourt. Adou Thiero continues his breakout junior season and is averaging a team-high 16.4 points per game.

Looking ahead in the Razorbacks’ schedule, they’re set to host No. 23 Georgia on Wednesday night inside Bud Walton Arena. Still searching for their first SEC win of the season, the Razorbacks have lost five-straight games after starting the season 11-2.

There’s more than enough time for Arkansas to turn its season around. However, the Hogs will need to do so in short order and meeting a ranked Georgia team with the benefit of playing on their home floor is a perfect place to start.

Tip-off between the Bulldogs and Razorbacks, sans Boogie Fland, is set for Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET live on the SEC Network.
