Arkansas defensive back Quincey McAdoo was ejected from the Liberty Bowl during a critical play in double overtime on Wednesday night. McAdoo drilled Kansas quarterback Jalon Daniels in the head as he was trying to score a potential game-tying two-point conversion. Arkansas was leading 53-51, in the second overtime and Daniels was hit around the one-yard line as he was trying to get in for the score, but McAdoo came flying in headfirst to make the tackle. Following a lengthy review, officials decided to eject him from the game for targeting.

Check it out below.

Arkansas would survive in triple overtime, 55-53, but the penalty played a huge role in allowing the Jayhawks to send it into triple overtime. It was a wild and whacky game, but certainly one of the most entertaining bowls of the 2022-2023 college football bowl season. Kansas trailed by 18 points in the fourth quarter but stormed back late to send it to overtime at the end of regulation.

With 1:04 remaining, the Jayhawks recovered an onside kick around midfield, trailing 38-30. Kansas then drove down and scored a touchdown and two-point conversion to complete their improbable 18-point fourth quarter comeback.

Arkansas defensive back Quincey McAdoo made sure that he’s a name to remember for the 2023 college football season. The freshman defensive back absolutely destroyed Kansas wide receiver Quentin Skinner late in the second quarter of the Liberty Bowl on Wednesday night. Skinner caught a pass across the middle from quarterback Jalon Daniels. He was running in a straight line across the 35-yard line, where he caught the football, and was immediately leveled by McAdoo.

Following the hit, Skinner was vomiting on the field. He stayed on the ground for a few minutes, before going into the Kansas medical tent. But Skinner was seen a few minutes later with his helmet and was out of the medical tent.

There was no flag on the play, but McAdoo flexed after the hit and immediately mimed the “put him to sleep” gesture as he kept celebrating. That part of the play will definitely not make Kansas fans happy. McAdoo is clearly a name to remember for next year and beyond for the Arkansas Razorbacks.
