Eric Musselman shares latest on Trevon Brazile's injury

Arkansas forward Trevon Brazile saw his season end due to injury a year ago and now he’s battling another lingering issue as the Razorbacks creep closer to SEC play.
Brazile suffered an ankle injury on Dec. 4 against Furman. He returned to play against Oklahoma on Saturday, but he didn’t have much of an impact. And now he’s limited in practice again as he seeks a full recovery.
“TB has not practiced on Monday or Tuesday,” coach Eric Musselman said on Wednesday. “He’s been with the trainer. And we’ll see how he is later today when we’re about to practice. I would anticipate him jumping in, doing some stuff today.”
Trevon Brazile is a force when healthy. Even with the Oklahoma game as a relative bust as he recovered from the ankle injury, he’s still averaging 10.2 points and 7.1 rebounds per game.
He’s a strong presence around the rim, blocking 1.7 shots per game. Meanwhile, he’s an explosive, above-the-rim player who adds another dimension to the Arkansas offense.

But his work in practice may be limited still.
“Won’t do anything live, so if most of our practice is live then that means he won’t be involved in much,” Musselman said.
In the game against Oklahoma, Trevon Brazile failed to score and logged just two steals, a rebound and an assist in 15 minutes of action. That was far from the typical production the Razorbacks have grown accustomed to getting out of him.
Getting him back to full health will be key.
Still, Musselman praised his effort in trying to gut it out against the Sooners, even though the Hogs fell 79-70.
“He did everything he could,” Musselman said. “He was he was rehabbing all hours of the day. He and the trainer did a great job. Obviously, he wasn’t his normal self, but he sacrificed for the team and tried to give us some minutes.
“It’s not why we lost. He played on a bum ankle for the betterment of the team, which is — you want guys to be that team-oriented.”
