Eric Musselman shares what Trevon Brazile's return means to Arkansas
Trevon Brazile made his first appearance for Arkansas in a month on Saturday during their win over Missouri. It was a welcome return for the team’s lineup according to Eric Musselman, even if he didn’t get to see much of the court.
Musselman spoke about Brazile being back during his postgame press conference after the 88-73 win over the Tigers. He thought it was a great step for the redshirt sophomore considering all he did to get back.
“Good to get him back,” said Musselman. “He has worked extremely hard on his rehab.”
Brazile didn’t accumulate any statistics besides a foul in the victory over Mizzou. However, much of that had to do with the slow approach with him as he played just four minutes in his first action since January 24th.
He also didn’t play much because, as Musselman explained, the ‘Hogs have found a rotation that they like and has been more successful for them as of late. That makes a reinsertion of a player like Brazile did this weekend as challenging as it is.
“The group that has been playing well for us? I mean that was the group that we kind of rolled with. It, this late in the year to work people back in, becomes problematic, quite honest,” said Musselman.

“We all know how talented T-Brazile is. He’s one of the most talented players in our league. But we’ve got a good flow going right now,” Musselman said. “How long that lasts? I don’t know but we’re 4-3 in our last seven, I think. To be quite honest with you, we should be 5-2.”
Arkansas has found something that has worked over their seven games since January 31st. After a 1-6 start in league play, they’ve gone 4-3 over the next seven. That includes two straight for the first time in conference this season with the 15-point win yesterday. One of those three losses, one their last outings at Mississippi State, was also close enough where Musselman feels as though it should’ve ended up in a tally in their win column.
Brazile is an important piece for the Razorbacks and will get his chances to show that as he eases back. Still, finding out how to do that will also not throwing off the more positive momentum is something that Musselman will have to sort out heading into this week.
“We’re playing really good. We keep growing,” said Musselman. “Try to have good practice on Monday and get ready for Tuesday’s game because we are playing better than we have most of the season.”
