Eric Musselman to rock custom Nike's featuring each 2022 recruit's name
Eric Musselman is not only trying to bring Arkansas to the promise land for the first time in nearly three decades, but he is also trying to do so while becoming a fashion icon for coaches.
He is planning on wearing custom Nike shoes for every game of the season. And for the Razorbacks’ game Wednesday against Northern Iowa, he has decided on using his shoes to shoutout his 2022 recruiting class.
The red-and-silver low Air Force Ones feature the names of all five recruits, each of which has signed their National Letters of Intent during the early signing period.
These are third custom pair of low Air Force Ones the third-year Arkansas coach has worn this year.
The first pair was a similar concept featuring the names and numbers of the 2021-2022 Razorbacks roster. The second was a camouflaged pair created for Veterans Day weekend.
The shoes are created for Musselman by Marla Burleson. Burleson told the Fort Smith Times that working with the basketball coach has been a great experience.

“I am excited for the fans to see all the upcoming shoes through the season,” Burleson said. “We have some great designs in store for the Razorback fans!”
Eric Musselman has built a top-10 recruiting class for the 2022 cycle
The Razorbacks class is the No. 7 in the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Ranking with five-star guard Nick Smith Jr. out of North Little Rock (Ark.) High leading the charge.
The On3 Consensus – a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies – has Smith has the 10th-best player in the cycle.
Four-star small forward Jordan Walsh is the No. 22 overall recruit in the country. Four-star shooting guard Derrian Ford, four-star small forward Barry Dunning, and three-star small forward Joseph Pinion all rank inside the top 125.
Eric Musselman’s recruiting skill was a major reason for Arkansas’ success this cycle.
“I’ve been talking to Coach Musselman every day since this recruitment process has started,” Smith told On3’s Joe Tipton after he committed. “Just talking to him about the goals that he has for me and the goals he has for the future of Arkansas. It really caught my eye, and really caught my parent’s eye in terms of getting to the NBA and helping me be ready for the league. The opportunities and plans he has for me were something I couldn’t pass up. Just talking to my parents about it, it made sense for me to stay home and go with Coach Muss.”
