Florida State transfer QB Trever Jackson commits to Arkansas

Former Florida State quarterback Trever Jackson has committed to Arkansas via the NCAA Transfer Portal, per On3’s Pete Nakos. Jackson visited Arkansas on Wednesday.
Jackson only spent one season at Florida State. In his lone campaign in Tallahassee, Jackson only made one appearance and ultimately redshirted. However, he served as the Seminoles’ scout team quarterback in practice.
Trever Jackson played high school football at Jones, where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 621 overall player and No. 41 QB in the 2024 recruiting cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Jackson recorded 1,771 yards of total offense and 17 touchdowns during his senior season at Jones. He led the program to the state semifinals before being eliminated. Jackson initially committed to Ole Miss coming out of high school, but eventually flipped his commitment to Florida State.
Now, Jackson will look to reach new heights at Arkansas. He is expected to be a backup for the Razorbacks, who are returning starting quarterback Taylen Green.
Green transferred to Arkansas last offseason and immediately breathed life into the Razorbacks’ offense. He completed 60.4% of his pass attempts last season for 3,154 yards and 15 touchdowns.
However, Green’s arm was far from his only threat. The standout junior also racked up 602 yards and eight touchdowns in the ground game. Arkansas’ quarterback room will also include redshirt freshman KJ Jackson and redshirt sophomore Blake Boda.

Trever Jackson is the 26th player Arkansas has added via the NCAA Transfer Portal this offseason. The Razorbacks have experienced significant roster turnover, with 36 players entering the portal thus far.
Jackson will replace backup QB Madden Iamaleava, who made headlines when he transferred out of Arkansas to join his brother at UCLA. According to On3’s Pete Nakos, Arkansas is demanding roughly $200,000 from Iamaleava for leaving before his NIL contract expired.
Arkansas posted a 7-6 overall record last season and a 3-5 mark in conference play. The Razorbacks finished their season strong with a 39-26 win over Texas Tech in the Liberty Bowl. Next season will be head coach Sam Pittman‘s sixth at the helm of the program, and he’s hungry to take another step forward.
