Florida State transfer receiver Jalen Brown is expected to sign with Arkansas, On3’s Pete Nakos confirmed. Brown spent just one season with the Seminoles after beginning his college career at LSU in 2023.

The 6-foot-1 receiver appeared in nine games with two starts during the 2024 season for FSU. He finished with eight catches for 75 yards and also had a kickoff return for 19 yards.

The year prior at LSU, Brown appeared in only three games to take a redshirt season. That being the case, he brings three seasons of eligibility with him to Fayetteville.

Brown played high school football at at Gulliver Prep in Miami, where he was a four-star prospect. He ranked as the No. 79 overall player and No. 13 receiver in the 2023 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

As a transfer, Jalen Brown is the No. 610 overall player and No. 101 receiver in the 2025 portal according to the On3 Industry Ranking. He will be the sixth transfer receiver that the Razorbacks have signed out of the portal.

Overall, Arkansas has brought in 27 players through the portal but also lost 38. That ranks it No. 57 overall and No. 14 in the SEC according to On3’s Transfer Portal Team Rankings.

The Razorbacks finished the 2024 season with a 7-6 record and won the Liberty Bowl against Texas Tech. Brown will look to compete for reps in the receivers room as Arkansas hopes to build upon last year in its sixth season under coach Sam Pittman, who owns a 30-31 overall record in Fayettville.

The spring transfer portal opened Wednesday, April 16 and closed 10 days later on Friday, April 25. As of this writing, more than 3,900 FBS scholarship players have entered the transfer portal in the 2024-25.

More than 2,800 FBS scholarship players entered their names into the NCAA’s transfer database during the 2023-24 school year. Removing those who withdrew or went pro, the final total sat at 2,707 transfers. That means roughly 25% of all FBS scholarship players hit free agency in one year.
