Former Arkansas safety Myles Slusher announces plans to enter NCAA transfer portal
Following news on Saturday that Arkansas safety Myles Slusher had left the team, the Oklahoma native posted his intention to enter the NCAA transfer portal to find a new home on Sunday. The junior contributed all three years in Fayetteville and he will have immediate eligibility at his next program.
During the Razorbacks’ final regular season game against Missouri, the CBS broadcast confirmed he left the program and did not travel with the team on Friday.
After the disappointing loss to cap their regular season, head coach Sam Pittman provided little in terms of details regarding the safety’s decision.
“He came in, we visited on Sunday, and Sunday evening he quit the team,” explained Pittman. “… That’s it. I don’t want to talk about that anymore.”

After a loss in early November, Slusher was arrested by Fayetteville police, along with fellow defensive back Anthony Brown. The arrests resulted in suspensions for both players but after footage of the arrest came out, the suspensions were widely panned.
Slusher denies ‘quitting’ on team
In a now-deleted tweet, Slusher responded to a report saying he “quit” the team.
“Quitt??” Slusher wrote. “If anybody know me fr I put people before myself before anything. Always been that way ain’t never been selfish always a team player in all phases of life. Everything ain’t always what it seem. Can the people yall praise in life say the same? #lastresponse”
As a recruit, Slusher was a four-star prospect and the No. 170 overall recruit from the class of 2020, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
As an experienced SEC defender, it is likely that another Power Five program will scoop Slusher up out of the portal. He’ll have two years to play one season at his next program.
