Derby (Kan.) running back Dylan Edwards was set to visit Oklahoma this weekend as part of the Sooners’ massive junior day event, but he has apparently had a change of plans. Instead, the 5-foot-7, 154-pound speedster will head to Arkansas to see the Razorbacks instead.

“I will be at the University of Arkansas this weekend #WPS,” Edwards tweeted Wednesday afternoon.

Edwards is the No. 359 prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 25 running back and the No. 4 junior prospect in Kansas.

He previously visited the Sooners at the end of January, a week after making a trip to see Nebraska. Oklahoma is the overwhelming favorite to land him, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM). Edwards was named the 2021 Kansas Gatorade Player of the Year award. It capped off a junior season that saw Edwards rush for 2,603 yards, 40 touchdowns, and rack up more than 3,214 all-purpose yards.

Edwards also averaged 221 yards a game and 13 yards a carry. He was a key reason why Derby made it to the Kansas Class 6A state championship game.

Dylan Edwards is a K-State legacy, as his father Leon Edwards played for Bill Snyder from 1992-1994. He is a coveted prospect for the Wildcats, who have hosted him four times since June. He doesn’t yet hold an offer from the Razorbacks, but could very well get one this weekend on his visit.
