In the third quarter against Cincinnati on Saturday, Jadon Haselwood caught the first of what Arkansas fans hope will be many touchdowns in a Razorback uniform.

Sandwiched between a pair of Bearcats defenders, the Oklahoma transfer somehow came away with the ball despite the tight coverage. From there, he fell backward into the end zone for the 19-yard score to but Arkansas up 21-7.

The No. 15 receiver according to On3’s Transfer Portal Rankings, Haselwood had 39 catches for 399 yards and six touchdowns this past season in Norman. He figures to be a key piece for a Razorbacks receiving corps that lost three of its top four players from a year ago.

The touchdown was Jadon Haselwood’s only score of the day, as he finished with three catches for 43 yards. The Razorbacks went on to claim a 31-24 victory and now move on to open SEC play next week against South Carolina.

KJ Jefferson scores first for Arkansas

Arkansas quarterback KJ Jefferson got the scoring started with his legs Saturday against Cincinnati, as he broke free for a 15-yard touchdown run to give the Razorbacks a 7-0 lead with 6:18 in the first quarter.

Jefferson’s touchdown run came after Arkansas cornerback Dwight McGlothern came away with an interception to set the Razorbacks up at the Cincinnati 29. The drive spanned three plays, as Jefferson also completed a 20-yard pass to Matt Landers.

Saturday’s touchdown run shouldn’t come as a surprise, as KJ Jefferson was also a factor on the ground last season when led the team with 664 yards rushing and six touchdowns. It looks like Jefferson is ready to pick up where he left off, already making an impact on the ground early in 2022.

He ended his day 18-of-26 passing for 223 yards passing and three touchdowns in addition to 62 yards and the score on the ground.
