The Arkansas Razorbacks have found success under head coach Sam Pittman. In 2021, the Razorbacks finished ranked and won a bowl game. It was the first time they did both of those things since 2011. Now, Arkansas fans want to see their program build on this recent success.

On3’s J.D. PicKell explained on The Hard Count just why Arkansas fans are so excited to build on this success and whether they can expect it to actually happen.

“Arkansas is built to do some good things again in 2022,” J. D. PicKell said. “And that’s what the pulse of the fanbase is because for a long time Arkansas was saying, there were murmurs even, saying, ‘Do we belong in the SEC?’ I mean, what are we doing here, folks? After the Chad Morris season, things were really low.”

Sam Pittman has changed things, though. It started with the three-win 2020 season when Arkansas started to get competitive. Following it up with the success of 2021 and fans know they have the right coach in place.

“The pulse of the fanbase is we got our foot in the door. So, now let’s do something about it.”

“I respect the Arkansas fan base so much because they still have realistic expectations,” J.D. PicKell said. “Talked to somebody pretty close to the program and he said, ‘Hey, if we win seven games, people aren’t going to be up in arms just by nature of how tough this schedule is.'”

Arkansas opens its season by hosting Cincinnati. They also play BYU out of conference. All of that is before you consider they have to play in the SEC West, against teams like Alabama. That means eight wins is a healthy expectation to have.
