There’s a new snack in town for Arkansas Razorbacks fans, and the debut of the new product on shelves was marked Tuesday by some local advertising. From the likes of basketball coach John Calipari, no less.
After Tyson Foods unveiled its new ‘Razorback Nuggets’ on Tuesday, with the product set to hit stores in select Walmart stores in Northwest Arkansas and Missouri, Calipari came out with a ringing endorsement for the product.
He tweeted a photo of the new Razorback Nuggets and expressed his desire to eat some soon.
“My friend John Tyson stopped by practice a few days ago, but he didn’t tell me about these Razorback nuggets!” Calipari wrote on Twitter. “Can’t wait to try them. A great partnership!”
Tyson, of course, is a mega-booster at Arkansas, one at least in part credited with prying Calipari away from the Bluegrass State.
His net worth exceeds $2 billion, and he received a standing ovation when John Calipari was introduced as the Arkansas head coach at a press conference earlier this year.

Needless to say, getting Calipari to help chip in on product endorsement will be a big deal for Tyson and is the sign of a mutually beneficial relationship between the two.
As Calipari made the move from Kentucky, one thing he praised at Arkansas was the Razorbacks’ ability to build a large NIL fund for players. Keeping those money pipelines open will be crucial to Calipari’s success with the Razorbacks.
John Calipari spoke about his relationship with Tyson numerous times after being hired.
Tyson’s headquarters reside in Northwest Arkansas, a company that started on humble beginnings with the current CEO’s grandfather John W. Tyson moving his family to Arkansas and delivering farm-raised chickens from his truck in the 1930s. And nearly a century later Tyson Foods has now made its presence felt in the college athletics space in a remarkable way with a new product line.
