Arkansas Football removes QB Kade Renfro from online roster
Arkansas quarterback Kade Renfro no longer appears on the Razorbacks football roster on the team’s official website.
Renfro would have been entering his redshirt junior season with Arkansas. No official statement has been released on his status with the team.
The Texas native started his career at Ole Miss, before transferring to Arkansas following his freshman season in 2020. While playing with the Rebels, he also spent time at receiver.
Renfro suffered a knee injury and did not appear in any games for Arkansas in 2021. He then reinjured his knee and missed the 2022 season, as well.
Renfro signed with Arkansas as a three-star prospect and the No. 68 quarterback in the country for the class of 2020, according to the On3 Industry rankings.
He passed for 2,372 yards and 17 touchdowns as a senior in high school, while completing 59 percent of his passes. He also rushed for 211 yards.
Renfro earned MVP honors at the Elite 11 Houston Regional while in high school. He chose the Rebels over offers from Florida State, UCF and others.

Sam Pittman goes in-depth on Arkansas DB depth
While Renfro is no longer on the roster, the Arkansas offense should still be pretty good again in 2023.
Where the Razorbacks need to improve is on defense. Their struggles on defense held Arkansas down at times in 2022. Heading into spring practice, correcting the issues on defense was essential for Pittman and his defensive coaches. Following the Arkansas spring game, Pittman discussed a few ongoing storylines on the defensive side of the ball.
While discussing the improvement of depth Arkansas will likely have in their defensive secondary in 2023, the Razorbacks head man also revealed the level of urgency surrounding that situation.
“I like our depth at corner. I’m liking our corners. To be perfectly honest with you, that was the number one concern really going into spring ball, in the secondary,” said Pittman. “And now, when we get some guys that are out. Obviously, Al (Alfahiym Walcott) is out, and once we get him back, I think we can start moving a little bit; some of our corners are moving to safety. And we feel like Al’s probably a nickel, which will help us there with Jay Lew (Jaylen Lewis). But I think we have the pieces back there that we can move some guys around and have five really good players in the back end.”
