Landon Jackson injury: Arkansas DL leaves game on stretcher vs. Missouri
Arkansas defensive lineman Landon Jackson suffered what appears to be a very serious injury in Saturday’s season finale against Missouri. The Razorbacks star went down with a little more than a minute remaining in the first half and stayed on the field for several moments as players from both schools gathered around and got on their knees.
Eventually, a stretcher made its way out on the field as Jackson was carted off and taken on an ambulance for further evaluation. We’ll hope for the best as we await more word on his status ahead of the second half.
A senior, Jackson was playing in potentially his final college game. He has been one of the key players for Arkansas’ defense this season with 44 tackles (10 for loss), 6.5 sacks, three passes defended and a forced fumble.
The ESPN broadcast reported that there is a hospital directly across the street from the stadium in Columbia. That’s where Jackson was taken, according to sideline reporter Alyssa Lang.
Thankfully, the network also reported that Jackson has movement in his extremities and is talking to doctors.

“We saw Landon Jackson put onto the stretcher, put into the ambulance and taken across the street to MU hospital, which specializes in trauma level one,” Lang said. “As Arkansas’ team was coming off of the field, they were touching the side of that ambulance, patting the side to let their brother know that they were thinking about him.
“I talked to athletic director Hunter Yurachek. He said he has movement in his extremities. He was talking and the hospital visit is because he was feeling pain in his neck, using the word ‘precautionary’ to get all of that checked out. I talked to Sam Pittman about how he addressed the team in the middle of a very emotional moment in this tie ball game on the road in the SEC. He said, ‘I told them that Landon is talking, that he’s moving and that he’s going to be OK. Let’s go win this game for him.’”
Arkansas and Missouri were tied at seven entering the second half with the Battle Line Rivalry up for grabs. The Razorbacks will move forward through the game without Landon Jackson, but he appears to have avoided anything major.
