Las Vegas sets Arkansas win total odds at 7.5 for 2022 season
Having officially climbed up and out of the cellar of the SEC, Sam Pittman’s Arkansas Razorbacks are getting much more favorable projections from the oddsmakers in Las Vegas. After covering their 2021 win total projection by three games, the Razorbacks’ total for 2022 is at 7.5 wins, according to Vegas Insider.
In 2021, Arkansas upset Texas in stunning fashion, picking up an early-season rivalry win and a nice storm-fielding fine. Beating Texas A&M in Week 4 sent a message to the whole nation that the Hog was, in fact, back.
After taking consecutive losses versus Georgia, Ole Miss and Auburn, Sam Pittman got the Hogs back on track to take down Mississippi State and then LSU in overtime on the road. Arkansas capped a three-trophy season with a rivalry win over Missouri and finally, an Outback Bowl victory versus Penn State.
For 2022, Pittman returns both of his coordinators, along with starting quarterback KJ Jefferson, two 500-yard rushers and leading tackler Bumper Pool. However, the Hogs had to do a lot of work in the offseason to replace talent like first-round draft pick Treylon Burks. Former Missouri head coach Barry Odom had some major transfer portal wins, adding linebacker Drew Sanders from Alabama, safety Latavious Brini from Georgia, and cornerback Dwight McGlothern from LSU.
