Arkansas got their second flip from Kentucky, which was their first from the Wildcats’ previous recruiting class, on Monday. Now, come Wednesday, they’ll have their chance to get another one.

Per On3’s Joe Tipton, Boogie Fland will take a visit to Fayetteville beginning on Wednesday night. This comes after Fland asked for a release from his letter intent following Calipari’s move from Kentucky to Arkansas.

Fland, a point guard out of Harlem, New York, played high school basketball at Archbishop Stepinac. He is a four-star prospect and the No. 19 overall recruit in the 2024 cycle. That’s according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s the No. 1 PG in the class coming out of the prep ranks. He’s also the No. 3 player out of the state behind VJ Edgecombe (Baylor) and Ian Jackson (North Carolina).

Fland was a McDonald’s All-American this year while also participating in the Nike Hoop Summit and the Jordan Brand Classic.

Fland originally committed to Calipari and the Wildcats back in October before signing in November. He was part of their previous class that was No. 2 in the country in On3’s 2024 Industry Basketball Team Recruiting Rankings. Among the six total commitments, he was the second-highest rated prospect behind only Jayden Quaintance.

However, since Calipari left to lead the ‘Hogs, all but one of those players, a four-star, Top-100 guard in Travis Perry, have re-opened their recruitments. Quaintance and Fland along with Billy Richmond and Somto Cyril are all now available again out on the recruiting trail. Karter Knox, who also decommitted, has already committed to Arkansas as of Monday.

As for former players at Kentucky, Zvonimir Ivisic also committed to the Razorbacks from out of the transfer portal.

Fland is one of the top remaining freshman left in need of a program to play after his release a week ago. That could end up being Arkansas depending on how his visit with the coach he previously committed to goes tomorrow and moving forward this week.

More on Knox’s commitment to Arkansas

Four-star SF and former Kentucky commit Karter Knox has committed to Arkansas.

The 6-foot-6, 211-pounder has once again pledged to John Calipari and will follow the Hall of Famer from Lexington to Fayetteville.

Knox was the first member of UK’s 2024 class to decommit following Calipari’s departure as he was committed to the Cats for less than a month.

Knox is the No. 24 overall prospect and the No. 8 SF in the 2024 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He checks in at No. 19 overall in the On3 Top-150.

He is the brother of former Kentucky standout and NBA forward Kevin Knox, who also played under Calipari.

Karter, a McDonald’s All-American, has developed a solid relationship with Calipari and is now his first high-school commit at Arkansas.

“You know, he is like another uncle,” Knox said of Calipari to On3’s Jamie Shaw. “He is a good guy to talk to off the court if you have a problem or anything. He’s very serious on the court, but off the court, he is like your uncle at the cookout. He has all the stories and you know he is going to tell you everything.”
