Sam Pittman jokes about Arkansas fanbase, Razorback statue
Sam Pittman is more than committed to the University of Arkansas, proud as heck to be the coach of the Razorbacks.
In fact, Pittman is so elated to lead Arkansas into battle each week during the fall than he has a gigantic statue depicting two hogs — and he’s proud of that too. Check out the statue below, which Pittman shared with the Twitterverse earlier this offseason.
Now, Pittman is making some hilarious comments regarding the statue, and he did so at SEC Media Days on Wednesday.
“The state wants people to be proud of the Razorbacks. I’ve got a big ole hog out on the lake and they come by, call the hogs, all kind of stuff. It’s a bronze hog. There’s two of them. There’s a great big ole seven-foot hog and then another one and it’s set. You ought to look it up. You have Twitter? You don’t have to follow me, just @CoachSamPittman. It’ll be on there. It’s bad,” stated Pittman. “I’m going to tell you right now it’s bad to the bone. It drools out of the hog’s mouth, the drool and all.”
“We don’t have names for them. They’re both male, though, I’m just telling you. Trust me. Two boys.”

We’ll take your word for it, Coach. Nevertheless, it’s tough to argue about how awesome Sam Pittman’s statue is — perhaps Arkansas can sell miniature versions for all of Razorbacks faithful to have in the future.
Sam Pittman wants Oklahoma and Texas as permanent rivals for Arkansas
Continuing, when Arkansas left the Southwest Conference in 1992 in favor of the SEC, they left behind some heated, regional rivalries. One has been back brought with Texas A&M but now, Texas will be back in the fold within the next few seasons. Even Oklahoma would bring an interesting matchup for the Razorbacks, at least to head coach Sam Pittman.
When Pittman was asked if he would want both Texas and Oklahoma as permanent rivals, he responded with a quick and emphatic “yes.” He went on to expand, talking about how much fun playing the Longhorns was last season. Add in the rivalry Arkansas has already built up with Missouri and Pittman just created his ideal yearly schedule.
“It was fun playing Texas last year,” Pittman said. “Obviously, it was one year. We had a nice game against them, have a lot of respect for Coach Sark and the Longhorns. Oklahoma would be another rival that would be pretty cool. To be honest with you, we could play Texas, Oklahoma, and Missouri — that would be really neat.
“I’m not a schedule maker, I’m just a football coach but to answer your question, that would be a really cool deal going up into the state of Oklahoma.”
