Sam Pittman reveals Cam Little hit 68-yard field goal at practice
College kickers hitting extremely long field goals in practice is nothing new. But for Arkansas kicker Cam Little, he did something we rarely ever see. He hit a historic field goal the other day in practice.
If he would have hit it in a game, Little’s 68-yarder would have been a record for college football. In his most recent press conference, Hogs head coach Sam Pittman revealed that Little drilled the unbelievable field goal in practice.
Sam Pittman couldn’t believe what Cam Little did in practice
Pittman was asked about the kind of season his kicker was having and that it seems like he’s been able to take things to the next level.
“He really has. We just talked about it on a walk today, about how a guy of his stature can kick the ball so far. I guess smaller guys on the tee box can hit it a country mile, too, you know. But yesterday in a two-minute drill he hit a 68-yarder. At the end to go win the game,” Pittman explained.
“I’d never seen anything like it. He’s done an absolutely great job and what a wonderful person. And we’re very fortunate, accuracy is off the chart and just having a great, great year for us. He’s very valuable for us. We….need to stay close enough in the fourth quarter to give him an opportunity to win the game for us. And I betcha he will,” Pittman said in his Wednesday press conference.

Little has been impressive from 50 yards and beyond this year for the Hogs, hitting all three of his attempts. The longest kick he’s connected on was a 56-yarder he hit against Ole Miss on Oct. 7. He’s currently drilled 90% of his attempts this season, connecting on nine of ten of his field goals. Little hasn’t missed an extra point, drilling 21 of 21 attempts.
He’s been one of the more impressive kickers in college football the past few years. In 2022, the Oklahoma native drilled all 50 of his extra points and 13 of his 16 field goal attempts. The 50 PAT attempts rank him seventh in a single season in school history.
As a freshman, Little earned freshman All-American honors from the FWAA, Pro Football Focus, and The Athletic. He was also named to the SEC All-Freshman team. In 13 games, Little connected on 20 of 24 field goal attempts. The 20 made field goals were the third most made by a kicker in Arkansas football history. Little made 83.3 percent of his field goals–the fifth best single season field goal percentage in school history.
As a high school prospect, he was one of the most highly regarded kickers in the country coming out of high school. According to the On3 Industry Rankings for the 2021 cycle, Little was ranked as the No. 1 kicking prospect in America.
