A bad day turned worse for two Arkansas players following the Razorbacks’ 21-19 loss to Liberty Saturday night after Myles Slusher and Anthony Brown were arrested following an altercation with an officer.

The two Arkansas teammates were arrested on charges of disorderly conduct, and head coach Sam Pittman condemned their actions during his weekly press conference Monday afternoon, noting the punishment he’ll be giving the two players for discipline.

“We’ve suspended them for at least one week,” Pittman said. “They have a.m. runs. They’ve done one this morning and they’ll both participate in practice on scout team. It’s unfortunate, it’s not acceptable and part of our job is to teach these kids and hopefully we’ll get that done.”

According to preliminary reports, Brown was among a group of people standing in the street around 2 a.m. off Dickson Street. An officer told Brown to get off of the street, an order with which he complied. The officer noted Brown “intentionally standing in the roadway a second time.”

The officer stated he grabbed the sleeve on Brown’s right arm and walked him to the sidewalk, where the Razorback player allegedly pushed him away.

“Brown was taken to the ground and taken into custody,” according to the report. “Brown engaged in fighting behavior, congregated with two or more other people in a public place refusing to comply with a lawful order to disperse, and obstructed vehicular traffic in a public place.”

In a separate arrest report, another officer witnessed Myles Slusher allegedly grab the officer who had taken down Brown and pushed him away. Other officers separateed Slusher from the situation. The report also states Slusher initially refused to give the officers his name or date of birth until transport arrived at the scene.
