Sam Pittman sends message to hospitalized former Arkansas offensive lineman
Arkansas Razorbacks head coach Sam Pittman took to Twitter on Thursday morning to send a message to one of his former offensive linemen Brian Wallace, who is currently hospitalized following two heart attacks on Monday. Wallace, a Razorbacks tackle from 2014-18, is fighting for his life in a coma and not breathing on his own, according to Pig Trail Nation’s Otis Kirk who spoke to Wallace’s father.
“Prayers for Brian Wallace and his family,” Pittman tweeted. “They are a strong family but need us to right now.”
Pittman recruited Wallace out of Christian Brothers College High in St. Louis, Missouri, and coached him for a season before leaving for the University of Georgia. The former starting right tackle for the Hogs was the No. 77 recruit in the nation in the 2014 class and the No. 1 prospect in the Show Me State, according to the On3 Consensus.
Brian Wallace’s mother has also shared a few updates on social media.
Former Razorback Brian Wallace hospitalized
After redshirting his first season in Fayetteville, Brian Wallace contributed minimally as a redshirt freshman. He earned a starting role in 2016 and went on to make 29 starts over three seasons, including all 12 games his senior year. He finished his Razorback career with 1,998 total snaps played on the offensive line, with 10 total sacks allowed. Wallace played for Bret Bielema at the start of his career, then Chad Morris.

Leaving Arkansas as a fifth-year senior, Wallace signed as an undrafted free agent with the Denver Broncos. He was also added and then released by Washington. He worked out for the Seattle Seahawks in 2019.
Despite his own achievements, Brian Wallace was part of a Razorbacks team in 2018 that finished at 2-10, including losses to Colorado State and North Texas. After another abysmal season in 2019, Arkansas made a change and hired former offensive line coach Sam Pittman to his first D-I head coaching position. The Hogs are now a solid top-25 outfit for the 2022 season.
