Sam Pittman tells incredible story on Jordan Domineck, how he motivated him
Fall camp is in full swing for college football programs across the country and that means plenty of teams nationwide have gotten to scrimmage. The Arkansas Razorbacks wrapped up their first fall scrimmage on Saturday and head coach Sam Pittman talked about his defensive line group and in particular, Jordan Domineck, and how he motivated the former Georgia Tech star recently.
“But you know, I think Jordan Domineck. He had a great last three, four days. He just didn’t know how to practice like we like to practice. I actually put it up in front of the team and just said since 1902 this is the worst D-Line group I’ve ever seen. Told them I went back in the archives from 1902 of ever high school, every college. But, he got the hint and man, he came on,” Pittman said following his team’s scrimmage.
Domineck was one of the highest rated defensive line prospects in the transfer portal and transferred to Arkansas this offseason from the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. He was ranked 61st among edge defenders in On3’s Transfer Portal Rankings. In the past two seasons for the Yellow Jackets, Domineck racked up 73 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries. Last season, he returned a fumble 70-yards for a touchdown after stiff arming a few defenders on his way to paydirt.

Coming out of high school, Domineck was rated as a three-star prospect, according to the On3 Consensus Rankings for the 2018 cycle. He set his high school’s sack record with 25 sacks as a senior. He also ran track and field and played basketball during his high school career.
Expectations are high at Arkansas with Sam Pittman set to enter his third season. The talented head coach led his team to a 9-4 record this past season, marking it the school’s first winning record in five years. This year, the Razorbacks were picked to finish third in the SEC West, and if Saturday’s scrimmage is any indication, things will only continue to move upward.
Arkansas is set to kick off the 2022 on Sept. 3 against the Cincinnati Bearcats.
