Seth Greenberg predicts Final Four for Arkansas under John Calipari in next 3 years
Seth Greenberg didn’t hide his feelings on John Calipari to Arkansas, saying the Razorbacks would get to the Final Four within the next three years.
It’s been a while since Calipari made a deep run in the NCAA Tournament. Heck, the first or second round exit was the norm at Kentucky over the last few seasons.
But a fresh start, new resources and new colors will lead to success for Calipari, according to Greenberg.
“He’s moving on to Arkansas, where he’s gonna have $5 million in NIL money, $5 million,” Greenberg said on Get Up. “That’s his salary cap for the next three years, so he’s moving on to Arkansas to what I predict in the next three years, he will be in the Final Four.”
Greenberg maintained that Kentucky is still a great job and Calipari was a great coach there. However, it was time to move on.
And as he alluded to, Kentucky is just “different.”
“Kentucky still good basketball job they have invested in their basketball program, they’ve invested in John Calipari, they’ve gotten great recruits, since COVID is where Calipari’s downfall began because the model of recruiting of one and dones,” Greenberg said. “The new one and dones are the transfer portal.
“They can get a coach that’s going to win, they’re not going to get a coach that understands the complexity of what it is to be the head coach at Kentucky. It’s a different job, the Big Blue Nation, it’s different. The expectation is different. Everyone wants to win, the Big Blue Nation, they’re fanatical.”

Calipari’s relationship with the Kentucky brass was supposedly broken. Now, many assume he was going to be forced out so he took an opportunity.
Greenberg felt it was the right time for Calipari to make this move because he was still a wanted coach across the country.
“I’m getting ridiculed for this, I don’t really care about it, alright, John Calipari didn’t leave Kentucky, he moved to Arkansas,” Greenberg said. “You know why? Because he was wanted. John Calipari left because he didn’t have a relationship with his athletic director. That’s a fact. John Calipari left because they haven’t done anything with their facilities in the last 15 years. John Calipari left because you know, maybe it was time to leave …
“If you’re not on the same page with your administration, if you don’t feel like they’re in it with you, and I understand that Mitch Barnhart is a terrific athletic director, but the relationship was broken. And when your relationship with your athletic director is broken, it’s time to move on.”
