Taylen Green announces return to Arkansas for 2025
Arkansas quarterback Taylen Green announced on Thursday that he would return to Fayetteville for a final season of college football in 2025. Green was eligible to leave for the NFL Draft early or transfer for a second time in his career.
Green began his career at Boise State. He transferred to Arkansas ahead of the 2024 season and won the starting job.
Green played in all 12 games for the Razorbacks in 2024, throwing for 2813 yards and 13 touchdowns with nine interceptions and rushing for 521 more yards and seven more touchdowns.
“I’m deeply thankful to God for putting me in the position I am today,” Green said in his post. “I appreciate everything Coach Pittman has done for me over the last year. His unwavering support, leadership, and belief in me throughout my time here has made this an incredible season both on and off the field. I’d also like to thank Coach Petrino for helping me grow as a player and for always challenging me to be my best.
“Also, I want to thank my family for their consistent love, sacrifices, and encouragement. With that being said, I’m incredibly grateful to be returning back to the University of Arkansas for my final collegiate season.”

Toward the end of the 2024 season, Arkansas head coach Sam Pittman addressed the decision Green had after the season.
“Monday after the Missouri game, I’ve got six guys that I’m gonna bring in and talk to myself or coaches are gonna talk to, you know, their players,” Pittman said. “But, there’s six in there that I want to sit down and talk to and certainly you could probably imagine who they are and they would be juniors.”
Pittman is referencing players who are going to be eligible for the NFL Draft next season, helping them to decide if it’s the right decision to go pro. Those conversations are unique for each individual player, regarding both what their draft stock is going to be and, in the modern era, what something like their potential NIL earnings could be in college.
“Really, what I’m going to do is talk to them about their draft status and then talk to them about coming back and then, certainly, try to figure out how we can get them to come back,” Pittman said.
