Taylen Green injury update: Sam Pittman gives latest status of Arkansas QB
Taylen Green has had a week and a half to get healthy from a knee injury that he suffered late in his last outing. Now, with that idle time passed ahead of this weekend’s game, Sam Pittman had the latest on the Razorbacks’ QB.
Pittman updated Green’s status coming into this week during his press conference today. He said Arkansas’ entire team, including their quarterback, spent the bye week trying to get ready for the next three games of their season.
“Yeah, last week was probably that way for everybody on the team,” said Pittman. “We were trying to get healthy but yet get some physicality as well on Thursday.”
With that, Pittman said that Green did participate in their walkthrough and has been practicing over the last several days.
“Taylen practiced,” Pittman said. “First was a walkthrough, which he would be practicing whether he was healthy or not, you know, in that. He’s practiced each day.”
Green has played quite well over the first half of his first season with Arkansas. He is 107-189 (56.6%) in passing for 1,502 yards, which is fourth-most in the conference, with five touchdowns and interceptions apiece. He has also rushed for 326 yards and four more scores for the ‘Hogs.

Green was having one of those better games in the eventual upset win over No. 4 Tennessee. However, his injury left it to Malachi Singleton to close it out in their final two drives, which he did after rushing for the go-ahead score with less than a minute and a half left versus the Vols.
From there, the Razorbacks determined that Green had a bone bruise but didn’t have any ligament damage to the knee. That kept him at day-to-day over the last week or so.
Now, a few days out from another top-ranked matchup against No. 8 LSU, Pittman thinks Green will be available for Arkansas. They’ll just have to determine that for certain over the next few days in Fayetteville.
“We’re hopeful that he’ll be ready to go,” said Pittman. “I feel like he will but we’ll have to wait and see a little bit more. Probably know a little bit more about Tuesday, Wednesday.”
“We’re hoping that he’s ready to play and we think he’ll be able to.”
