Report: Arkansas' Tramon Mark released from hospital, to return to Fayetteville on Saturday
Arkansas guard Tramon Mark has been released from the hospital after taking a scary fall against North Carolina on Friday, CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein reported. An MRI showed “no significant damage” after he hurt his back and he’s expected to return to Fayetteville from The Bahamas on Friday, Rothstein said.
Mark went down late in the game during the Battle 4 Atlantis and left the court on a stretcher. He went to throw a pass from under the basket and hit the ground hard. After the game, Eric Musselman confirmed Mark suffered a back injury, but didn’t offer many more specifics.
“I won’t know anything really until I get word from the doc,” Musselman said. “So I don’t have any real update on his health. But he played phenomenal basketball. His offensive efficiency tonight was really good.
“I’d rather not get into too much. I mean, it’s his back. Not his neck or head, but it’s his back.”
Mark was in the midst of an impressive game for the Razorbacks, scoring 34 points and pulling down five rebounds prior to his injury. UNC wound up getting the 87-72 victory to hand Arkansas its third loss of the season.
Mark is in his first season at Arkansas after transferring over from Houston. He was one of the best players for the Cougars last season, starting all 37 games. Mark averaged 10.1 points and 4.9 rebounds per game last season.
Mark received a medical redshirt during the 2021-2022 season. He played in seven games that season, prior to suffering a shoulder injury.

More from Eric Musselman on performance of Tramon Mark
Tramon Mark entered Friday’s game second on the Arkansas team in scoring at 15.8 points per game. He was shooting 50 percent from the field and 31 percent from 3-point range.
All of those numbers are now improved after the performance he put together against North Carolina.
Musselman spoke about just how impressive Mark’s performance was after the game and if he was expecting it entering the matchup.
“Well, I think he’s just a really improved offensive player playing with great confidence,” Musselman said. “And his efficiency tonight was phenomenal. I mean, you know, 13 makes on 17 shots is incredible.”
