Eric Musselman updates status of Tramon Mark, Trevon Brazile before Kentucky game
As Arkansas tries to right the ship, getting healthy will be the key. Getting Tramon Mark and Trevon Brazile back in the rotation would be huge as the Razorbacks look to bounce back from a blowout loss to Ole Miss earlier this week, and Eric Musselman had status updates on both during his Friday press conference.
Mark missed the Ole Miss game due to migraines, and his absence is big for Arkansas. In 17 appearances this year, he leads the Razorbacks with 17.8 points per game, and that production would be huge for Saturday’s game against Kentucky.
Musselman said Mark seemed to be making progress, but noted it’s sometimes hard to tell with migraines.
“I would assume that Tramon should be getting better each day,” Musselman said of Mark. “With the migraine, that’s usually the history of how migraines go, but also very, very unpredictable.”
Brazile, meanwhile, is dealing with knee soreness and sat out the second half of the Ole Miss loss. He averages a team-high 6.5 rebounds per game while adding 8.9 points per contest, meaning he provides important production on the glass.
As of Friday, Musselman said Brazile still dealing with some pain, and it’s hard to say if he’ll be able to give it a go against Kentucky. However, it didn’t sound promising.

“With TB, he would like to play, for sure. But he’s got some soreness,” Musselman said. “There’s a couple different thought processes: Does he rest? Does he see how it feels before tip? As of this moment, I would say at best, a game-time decision.”
Arkansas will look to shake off blowout loss to Ole Miss when Kentucky comes to town
Wednesday’s loss to Ole Miss was Arkansas’ fifth in six games to open SEC play. The Razorbacks started the season with a 9-4 record, but opened conference action with a 1-5 mark entering Saturday’s game against Kentucky.
Even despite the recent struggles, College GameDay will be in attendance for the matchup, which should create quite the atmosphere at Bud Walton Arena. Musselman said it’s sure to be an exciting day with so much fanfare.
“It’s awesome,” Musselman said. “Obviously, you’re talking about the A-plus, A-plus crew. You’re talking about incredible exposure for the men’s basketball program. Incredible exposure for the university, incredible for the university. For one day, the University of Arkansas? And leading up to it? I mean all you’ve got to do is turn on ESPN. There’s commercials running over and over and over about GameDay coming here.”
