Arkansas star wide receiver Treylon Burks came up with two highlight reel catches along the sideline on back-to-back plays, setting up a Razorbacks touchdown to tie Ole Miss, 31-31.

Treylon Burks has been heralded potentially as one of the top wide receivers in the 2022 NFL Draft. Entering Saturday’s game, Burks lead Arkansas in receiving yards and tied for the lead in receiving touchdowns with 22 receptions for 383 yards and two touchdowns.

Against Ole Miss, Burks has five catches for 112 yards and one touchdown. Quarterback KJ Jefferson has been nearly flawless, completing 17 of 23 pass attempts for 253 yards and two touchdowns, along with two more touchdowns rushing. On the ground, Jefferson, Trelon Smith and Raheim Sanders have combined for over 250 yards and three touchdowns.

For Ole Miss, quarterback Matt Corral has been efficient going 11 of 16 for 150 yards and one touchdown. The Rebels have dominated running the ball against the usually stingy Arkansas defense. Henry Parrish Jr, Snoop Conner and Corral have combined for 290 rushing yards.

The Razorbacks are exchanging blows with Ole Miss, with both teams combining for 1,000 yards of total offense early in the fourth quarter as both teams look to rebound from losses to Georgia and Alabama, respectively.

Arkansas’ loss to Georgia saw head coach Sam Pittman receive some humbling from his old boss, Kirby Smart.

Georgia routed Arkansas to the tune of a 37-0 victory, as the Razorbacks couldn’t seem to get things going on offense. With the loss, Pittman’s team fell to No. 13 in the AP poll, and he stated he believes that the Razorbacks — a team not accustomed to this sort of success — just might not be ready for the big stage.

“I don’t know exactly [what we can do] except learn from last week,” Pittman said. “I don’t know that we can do a whole lot about when we have pregame, I don’t know that we can practice at 11 — we did in the fall — I think we just need to get a different mindset going into [Ole Miss]. In all honesty, I think everybody saw we just weren’t ready for the grand stage yet.”

Pittman took an honest approach, acknowledging that Arkansas may not have been ready for the task of No. 2 Georgia. Perhaps the Razorbacks, previously ranked in the top-10, should have been lower. Regardless, Smart’s Georgia Bulldogs had their way with Arkansas.

Back on the big state on Saturday against Ole Miss, Arkansas looks more than ready for their opponent as both teams sit tied 38-38 early in the fourth quarter.
