WATCH: Treylon Burks runs 40-yard dash in NFL Scouting Combine
There’s plenty of SEC talent at the NFL Scouting Combine. Former Arkansas star Treylon Burks is among that group, and he impressed during his 40-yard dash on Thursday.
After running a 4.55 during his first attempt, Burks turned in a 4.50 second try during the event.
Burks had a huge year for the Razorbacks in 2021, hauling in 66 receptions for 1,104 yards and 11 touchdowns. He’s projected to be a first-round pick, but the combine is a good opportunity for him to increase his stock.
In ESPN analyst Mel Kiper’s latest mock draft, Burks came in as the No. 19 overall pick to the Philadelphia Eagles. That would pair him with former Alabama standout Devonta Smith and give quarterback Jalen Hurts another valuable weapon in the passing game.
Arkansas went 9-4 in 2021, including an Outback Bowl victory over Penn State.

Talking to the media on Wednesday at the NFL combine, Burks said he is trying to “mimic” his game after San Francisco 49ers do it all player, Deebo Samuel. Late in the season, Samuel was deployed everywhere in the Kyle Shanahan offense, helping the 49ers make a deep run in the playoffs.
Burks went on to discuss what he thinks his strengths are heading into the draft. He mentioned his versatility and the ability to lineup anywhere on the offense in a similar fashion to Samuel.
“Just my physicality,” Burks said. “Just the way I am able to be used at multiple positions. I can play outside receiver, inside receiver, running back — doesn’t matter. That just sets me apart from everybody else.”
