Army quarterback Bryson Daily will miss Week 10’s game against Air Force with an “undisclosed injury/illness,” according to ESPN’s Chris Low.
Daily was unable to practice throughout the week with the ailment, according to the report. Dewayne Coleman is expected to make the first start of his career on Saturday.
Daily has led the Black Knights to an undefeated start to the season heading into Week 10 against the 1-6 Falcons. Army’s unique offense has helped Daily become one of the nation’s leading rushers, totaling 138 carries for 909 yards and 19 touchdowns. His scoring total on the ground leads the nation through nine weeks this year.
For Coleman, a junior, he’s completed 6 of his 8 passes for 73 yards and a touchdown so far this season. He’s also a heavy run threat, totaling 22 rushes for 94 yards and another score.
While they won’t have their starting quarterback, Army’s historic start to the 2024 college football season helped the Black Knights open as heavy 22.5-point favorites over Air Force this weekend. However, that line has shrunk following the news of Daily’s illness/injury. They will enter the game at 18.5-point favorites over the Falcons.

As impressive of a start to the season as Army as had, the opposite can be said for Air Force. The Falcons have begun the year 1-6 — and have lost their last six after defeating Merrimack 21-6 in the season opener.
That leaves Army trying to keep its undefeated streak alive against Air Force on Saturday without its starting quarterback. However, still being such heavy favorites given Air Force’s poor start to the season, it’s no surprise that the Black Knights are three-score favorites.
When it comes to the all-time series, however, the Falcons have historically dominated the series and currently lead the series 38-19-1. Although, the Black Knights have won three of the last four games in the series.
Kickoff is scheduled for Noon ET and will air live on CBS and Paramount+.
