Huntsville (Ala.) Jemison four-star EDGE Hezekiah Harris grew up an Alabama fan, but as a recruit, he kept an open mind. Auburn got him on campus early, Hugh Freeze and his staff established relationships and the No. 19 prospect in the 2026 On3 Industry Ranking has committed to the Tigers.

“Auburn recruited me hard, I visited a lot and they moved to the top of my list over time,” Harris told On3. “I got to know the coaches, I kept going back for visits and I just felt comfortable.”

Around 30 schools have offered Harris. Clemson and LSU were also high on his list, so why did the 6-foot-5, 230-pound junior commit to Auburn?

“Auburn has great coaches. I like coach Josh Aldridge a lot and I have a great relationship with coach Freeze. It is a family environment there and I feel at home. The development under the coaches stood out to me also. Then the atmosphere is crazy on game day. Auburn has great fans.”

Harris believes in the Auburn coaching staff

Harris has attended multiple games, he has seen Jordan-Hare Stadium rock and he believes Freeze will have that place going crazy again in the coming years.

“Coach Freeze is doing a great job recruiting players and getting Auburn back to the top,” Harris said. “He is a good coach who knows what he is talking about and he is recruiting the players to help Auburn win. Coach Freeze is a smart coach, he is fun to be around, he is easy to talk to and he is doing a great job.”

Freeze drew a lot of praise from the new Auburn commit. Harris likes the head coach a lot, but his best connection with coach Aldridge. The two have gotten really close.

“Getting to work with coach Aldridge in camp was great. I have really gotten to know him and we have a really tight connection. He has been recruiting me since I was a freshman and we just know each other. He is a cool guy that can can coach and he is good at developing players. I am excited to learn more from him.”
