3-star DL Brenton Williams commits to Auburn

Opelika (Ala.) three-star defensive lineman Brenton Williams has announced his commitment to Auburn. He chose the Tigers after backing off his pledge to Coastal Carolina on Nov. 17.
Williams is the No. 1,141 overall prospect and No. 118 defensive lineman in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 46 player in Alabama.
On3 rates Williams higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Even though he is not ranked in the 2023 On300, Williams is the No. 67 defensive lineman and No. 25 player in Alabama.
“I really like Cadillac (Williams),” Williams told Keith Niebuhr of Auburn Live on Nov. 20. “If I had to pick a new coach today, it would be Cadillac. He’s a great dude. If they get a new coach I’ll meet him, see how he’s going to run everything and see if I fit into his scheme.”
A 6-foot-4, 245-pound prospect, Williams has an On3 NIL Valuation of $8.4K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

How Williams’ commitment impact Auburn’s 2023 class
Jenkins is now the third defensive line commit in the Tigers’ 2023 recruiting class. The others are Columbus (Ga.) Carver four-star Darron Reed and Lexington (Ky.) Frederick Douglass three-star Jamarrion Harkless.
The Alabama native is the Tigers’ third commit since the school parted ways with head coach Bryan Harsin on Oct. 31. At the moment, Auburn’s 2023 class is No. 27 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 10 in the SEC.
Following Jenkins’ pledge, the Tigers have 13 commitments that are composed of five four-stars and eight three-stars. Montgomery (Ala.) Montgomery Catholic Preparatory four-star running back Jeremiah Cobb is currently Auburn’s highest-ranked commit as the No. 150 overall prospect in the On3 Consensus.
The Tigers also have pledges from four other top-400 recruits. They are Reed, Thomasville (Ga.) Thomas County Central four-star wide receiver Adam Hopkins, Fairburn (Ga.) Langston Hughes four-star linebacker Terrance Love and Fort Pierce (Fla.) John Carroll four-star EDGE Wilky Denaud.
