4-star OT Carde Smith decommits from Auburn Tigers
Mobile (Ala.) Williamson four-star offensive tackle Carde Smith has decommitted from the Auburn Tigers, per On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
Smith had been a member of the Tigers’ class since April 10.
The 6-foot-6, 300-pound Smith took his official visit to Auburn the weekend of June 14. He followed up with an OV to USC the weekend after.
“The USC visit showed me some different things and made USC a real hard push for me to be here,” Smith told On3. “I’ll definitely be back for a game in the fall.”
Smith is the nation’s No. 231 overall prospect, No. 21 offensive tackle and No. 15 recruit from Alabama in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Auburn still holds top 10 class
Enterprise (Ala.) four-star safety Eric Winters is the highest-rated commit for the Tigers as the nation’s No. 65 overall prospect. He’s joined in the top 150 by Opelika (Ala.) defensive lineman Malik Autry, Highland Home (Ala.) EDGE Jakaleb Faulk, Elba (Ala.) running back Alvin Henderson, Winona (Miss.) linebacker Tyler Lockhart and Bixby (Okla.) offensive tackle Broderick Shull.
Auburn appeared to lead in Henderson’s recruitment most of the way, but Henderson chose to commit to Penn State on April 11. That commitment lasted a little over two months before Henderson chose to come back home to Auburn.
“Auburn is home,” he told On3. “I really appreciate Penn State and I love it up there and their coaches, but Auburn is home. It always has been.”
