Bryan Harsin has decided to start Holden Geriner over Robby Ashford against Arkansas Saturday afternoon, per the Auburn video board at Jordan-Hare Stadium. Ashford still practiced with the first team during warmups.

Saturday will be the true freshman quarterback’s first start of his collegiate career. He’s appeared in one game where he completed two passes for eight yards. Geriner, a former four-star recruit, per the On3 Consensus, was the No. 15 quarterback in the 2022 class. He ranked No. 224 overall and was the No. 25 player out of Georgia.

Auburn has been searching for a new AD since Allen Greene announced his decision to part ways with the university in August. Since then, Rich McGlynn has served as the interim athletic director until the school found a full-time replacement for Greene. It appears Cohen is in line to be that choice.
