Auburn baseball unfortunately had to deal with some inclement weather on Thursday evening. They postponed their series opener with the Ole Miss Rebels. Auburn and Ole Miss will have scheduled a doubleheader slated for Friday afternoon starting at 2:00 PM CST, Auburn announced on Thursday evening in a Twitter post. The second game is slated to begin at 6:00 PM CST.

Check out the post from Auburn baseball below.

The Tigers also had to deal with some inclement weather on May 9th against Samford. That game was cancelled.

Auburn’s win over Florida was one of their biggest of the season

Auburn currently sits at 27-19-1 on the 2023 campaign. One of their biggest wins of the season came against the Florida Gators on March 31. Auburn throttled No. 2 Florida 10-1. The Tigers took control early with an 8-0 lead in the second inning and the game was never even remotely close. The nine-run margin of victory marked the Tigers’ largest road win in Southeastern Conference play since defeating Alabama 20-5 on April 21, 2018.

The Tigers also recently won two of three games in their series against the top-ranked LSU Tigers. Auburn lost the first game, 3-0, before winning the final two 8-6 and 12-2. In doing so, the Tigers became the first team to defeat top-ranked LSU in a series all season long.

When Auburn defeated LSU 12-2, they held LSU to their season low in total runs. Keep in mind, LSU has the nation’s second-ranked scoring offense. So, that’s another impressive accomplishment this season for the Auburn baseball program. Both Auburn pitchers combined for seven strikeouts in the victory.

Bryson Ware leads the Tigers in home runs this season and by a substantial margin, with 19. He also leads the team in total bases (131) and RBIs (54). Ike Irish and Kason Howell are both tied for the team lead in doubles (19). Irish has enjoyed a stellar freshman season this year for Auburn, becoming the first Tigers’ player to record 17 hits in his first seven games since at least 1993. He also currently ranks second on the team in batting average (.359).

Following their series with Ole Miss, the Tigers will face Jacksonville State on Tuesday, May 16. That one is slated for 6:00 PM EST. Their final series of the regular season will come against the Missouri Tigers. That one is slated for May 18-May 20th.
