Auburn cornerback Tyler Scott to miss 2024 season with torn ACL
Auburn cornerback Tyler Scott will miss the 2024 season as he recovers from a torn ACL injury, Justin Hokanson of Auburn Live reported on Tuesday. It’s an unfortunate blow for the 6-foot-1 defensive back, who was set to enter his second season with the Tigers.
Scott appeared in four games during his true freshman season in 2023 to record two tackles. He still has four years eligibility, which will now kick starting 2025 in light of the injury.
Scott played high school football for Pebblebrook (GA) High School, where he was a four-star prospect. He ranked as the No. 320 overall player and No. 34 cornerback in the 2023 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Auburn is expected to start Kayin Lee and Keionte Scott at cornerback this season. However, the loss of Tyler Scott to injury means others will need to step up to provide depth.
The Tigers are coming off of a 6-7 finish in the inaugural season of coach Hugh Freeze. They have brought in 14 players through the transfer portal while losing 24 to rank No. 11 overall in On3’s Transfer Portal Team Rankings.
