Auburn defensive lineman TJ Lindsey plans to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal, per On3’s Hayes Fawcett. Lindsey only spent one season with the Tigers.

In his lone campaign at Auburn, Lindsey made one appearance. He recorded one tackle in Auburn’s season-opening win against Alabama A&M.

TJ Lindsey played high school football at IMG Academy, where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 383 overall recruit and No. 36 defensive lineman in the 2024 recruiting cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Lindsey chose Auburn over Texas, Miami and Texas A&M. The Longhorns were reportedly the closest to landing the highly-touted prospect besides Auburn. When Lindsey chose to play for head coach Hugh Freeze and the Tigers, he cited his hopes to immediately make an impact for the program.

“That is the key reason I came here. The D-line, we have it good, I just don’t feel like we have enough. It’s a wear and tear on your body the whole game,” Lindsey said, per AuburnLive. “You could see in the later part, we weren’t getting as much pass rush or as much pressure. That alone was a key factor in me coming here. I feel like I can come in here and compete early.”

Lindsey amassed 205 career tackles, 26 sacks and four forced fumbles during his high school career. Despite being just shy of 300 pounds, Lindsey boasts impressive mobility and was a Class 7A basketball all-state selection in high school.

Now, Lindsey will look to test the portal waters and find a new home. He is the fifth player to enter the transfer portal for Auburn during or since the end of the Tigers’ season.
