Auburn fan hacks Mississippi State social media, sends hilarious troll post during game
Some fans were puzzled by a post from the official Mississippi State basketball X account during Tuesday night’s game against Auburn. Midway through the contest between the Tigers and Bulldogs, the MSU account posted simply “WDE,” presumably standing for “War Damn Eagle,” the phrase often used by Auburn fans.
The post was quickly deleted, leading many to wonder how it came about in the first place. According to local Mississippi radio host Brian Hadad, it was the doing of a Tigers fan.
Apparently, the Mississippi State employee who was running the X account left their desk for a brief moment, and the Auburn fan seized their chance. They went down to where the laptop was, opened it up and fired away the tweet below.
It seems as if the Tigers fan might have been feeling himself a bit as Auburn had a large lead at the time. It would go on to cruise to an 88-66 victory against the No. 15 Bulldogs, never trailing for a single second.
All the more impressive is that the win came with leading scorer Johni Broome sidelined due to injury. Chaney Johnson stepped up in his absence to finish with 17 points and eight rebounds to go along with four blocks in the victory.
Auburn shot 55% from the floor while holding Mississippi State to only 34.9%, including just 12.5% from 3-point range. Five different Tigers players ended the game in double digit scoring.

With the win, Auburn improved to 16-1 (4-0 SEC) this season. It is currently ranked as the No. 1 team in the country and it’s hard to argue based upon Tuesday evening’s results.
Johni Broome injury: Jay Williams gives surprising take on Auburn without star big man
Johni Broome went down with a scary injury on Saturday, having to be helped back to the locker room against South Carolina. His status is certainly in question moving forward. Bruce Pearl says an MRI will take place on Sunday as Auburn awaits to hear definitive news.
Everyone is hoping the injury is a short-term one and Broome will miss a minimal amount of time. It’s something Auburn will have to deal with and ESPN’s Jay Williams believes there is opportunity ahead. Pearl could expand playing time for a few players, potentially leading to some valued experience come March.
“If it is a short time frame, use this opportunity as a moment for your team to corral and find guys that can plug those gaps to try to expand the depth of your team. (Pearl) already plays nine to 10 guys anyway. Plug those holes, get guys more experience doing different things. This way, when Broome comes back, it additive to the team playing around him already.”
