The excitement surrounding Auburn football is officially back in the air on The Plains, ladies and gents. The Tiger football fan base showed just how pumped they are about their new head coach, Hugh Freeze, by snapping up season tickets at a record rate this offseason. The school announced on Wednesday that they have sold out of public season tickets for the 2023 football campaign–selling 63,500.

“Here’s another example of the passion Auburn fans have for their team,” first-year head coach Hugh Freeze said. “We appreciate that overwhelming support and can’t wait to see everyone in person on September 2 at Jordan-Hare Stadium for Kickoff on The Plains.”

The figure of 63,500 does not include student season tickets, which are still currently being sold, according to a press release issued by the school on Wednesday. The combined total will be announced when student sales finish. Before the 2014 football season, Auburn set a program record with 62,900 season tickets sold. Since then, ticket allocations to visiting teams have been changed, which has allowed for more seating availability for Auburn fans.

“Our season ticket sellout is a tribute to the Auburn family and is indicative of their passion, excitement, and dedication – that is Auburn Being Auburn,” said Tigers’ director of athletics John Cohen. “Coach Freeze and his staff have done a tremendous job in a short time with spring practice and all phases of recruiting.”

One big item that is worth mentioning–the Georgia game on September 30th is already a sellout, and a very limited amount of tickets remain for the highly anticipated Iron Bowl matchup vs. the Alabama Crimson Tide on November 25th. The remaining tickets will be made available exclusively to Tigers’ Unlimited society members through a launching on Wednesday, July 12th, per the release from the school.

It shouldn’t be surprising that Auburn’s game with Georgia is a sellout. The Bulldogs are the back-to-back defending national champions of the college football world. Since 1900, only one team has ever won three straight national crowns. This year, Georgia will look to put their program in even more rarified air as they attempt to win three national titles in a row.

The Auburn Tigers kick off their highly anticipated 2023 campaign against the UMass Minutemen. Kickoff for that one is set for Sept. 2 at 3:30 P.M. EST. That will be the home opener in Jordan-Hare Stadium. Kickoff times for the first three games of the season have already been announced (UMass, Cal Golden Bears, Samford Bulldogs).
