Auburn remains in good position for 4-star OT Tavaris Dice
Auburn made a splash on the recruiting trail earlier this week, as Buford (Ga.) four-star cornerback Devin Williams committed to the Tigers, adding another impressive prospect to Hugh Freeze’s pledge list.
With Williams now in the fold, Auburn has the No. 8 recruiting class in the nation, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. There’s still plenty of room to push for top-five status, too.
When looking at the Tigers’ big board, one of the names currently on top is Fairburn (Ga.) Langston Hughes four-star offensive tackle Tavaris Dice. Checking in at 6-foot-6 and 275 pounds, the trench monster is a major target on The Plains.
Dice has been a frequent visitor, as he was in town for multiple game visits last season and has already made a pair of Junior Day trips in 2024. The Tigers are currently trending heavily for his pledge, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM).
“Offensive line is going to be a huge position of need for Auburn this 2025 class,” Auburn insider Jeffrey Lee said on ‘The Inside Scoop’. “Tavaris Dice, at or near the top of their wish list for an offensive tackle.
They’ve managed to get him on campus several times, I think the most important visit was probably the last one, right before the dead period, where he not only came, but he brought his family with him. It was very big for him, for his family.”

Dice’s commitment timeline lining up well for Auburn
It’s been an Auburn-Florida battle for Dice, but things are currently pointing in the direction of the Tigers. He told Auburn Live earlier this month that he was now eyeing a March commitment, which could bode well for Freeze and Co.
“His commitment, he was going to make it in the fall. Then he moved it up, he was going to make it in the summer and then after this last visit, he said ‘I think i’m going to be ready in March. He’s probably at the top of the board for Auburn when it comes to commitment watch,” Lee said.
Thus far, Auburn’s 2025 class features just one offensive line commitment in Athens (Ala.) three-star OT Spencer Dowland. The addition of Dice would provide a major jolt to the Tigers as they challenge for one of the top recruiting classes in the SEC and in the country.
Dice is the No. 264 overall prospect and No. 24 OT in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 37 player in Georgia.
