Auburn freshman QB Holden Geriner enters after Robby Ashford suffers injury
After a productive first half, Auburn starting quarterback Robby Ashford went out with an apparent arm injury. Ashford, who was already starting in place of two other injured Tigers quarterbacks in a must-win game for coach Bryan Harsin, seemed to hurt himself while throwing a block.
Here was the report from Auburn Gold Mine on Ashford leaving and true freshman Holden Geriner replacing him:
Tough luck for the Tigers. Already down their two other starting options, it was nice to see Ashford flash a little bit in the first half. But now he’s down too. Before leaving, Ashford was 8-9 on passes for 79 yards. He also had 12 carries for 43 yards, including a touchdown.
As for Geriner, can’t imagine he expected to play meaningful snaps at QB this season. What an opportunity for that kid.

Ashford re-enters game
After Missouri booted the ball back to Auburn with roughly 12 minutes left in the game and the score still tied at 14-14, Tigers starting quarterback Robby Ashford re-entered the game after leaving for several possessions due to an injury he suffered while throwing a downfield block.
When the Auburn offense took the field following the punt, Ashford returned under center. Not to much success, though, as the Tigers produced a swift three-and-out and punted it right back to Missouri. Perhaps some lingering troubles there for Ashford. Going to need him to gut it out for Auburn to win this one.
